Coaching is an essential leadership skill. It is beneficial for leaders in any organization to understand the process of effective coaching and develop techniques to be able to support their teams and the leaders of those teams. Managers require guidance and coaching in order to lead their teams. This course will train you in the key skills needed to effectively coach your front-line managers.
This accredited course will guide and assess students on the following:
- Selecting a first-line manager for a specific position
- Planning the coaching process of a first-line manager
- Coaching selected first-line manager
- Monitoring and measuring the results of coaching sessions

Audience
This course will suit leaders in any business unit who are responsible for leading and managing teams. This course is aimed at HR managers and people who guide and mentor managers to be more effective. It would also suit a manager who needs to know the techniques of coaching as a feedback and management skill.
It would also suit any qualifying learner who would like to earn credits towards a qualification.
Pre-Requisites
Learners starting to learn towards this unit standard are proficient in Language, Literacy and Communication, including intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, at NQF level 4.
Course Outline / Curriculum
Lesson 1
Select first-line manager for a specific position.
Lesson 2
Plan the coaching process of a first-line manager.
Lesson 3
Coach selected first-line managers.
Lesson 4
Monitor and measure the results of coaching sessions.
