The Accredited Change Management Course is a two-day workshop aligned to SAQA US252021 - Formulate recommendations for a change process. This course is set at NQF level 5 and is worth 8 credits.

It is part of the National Certificate: Generic Management which is a qualification worth 131 credits on NQF Level 5 and learners who earn this unit standard can progress and complete modules towards the achievement of this qualification.

This course is intended for managers in all economic sectors. Such as heads of department, section heads or divisional heads who may have more than one team reporting to them.

The course covers theory and best practice in Change Management. It is aligned to follow the specific outcomes of unit standard 252021 which are:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of and insight into the need for change within the context of organisational change.

  2. Identify the need for change in a unit of an entity in terms of the desired state compared with the current state.

  3. Select a model for implementing a change management process.

  4. Formulate recommendations on implementing the change process.

The knowledge underpinning the above specific outcomes is:

  • Theories of change.

  • Theories of change management.

  • Human responses to change.

  • Models of change management.

  • Techniques for conducting a SWOT analysis (i.e. strengths, weaknesses opportunities, and threats).

  • Components of a change management plan.

Pre-Requisites

 

The entry level requirements for this course are:

  • Communication at NQF Level 4

  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4

  • Computer Literacy at NQF Level 4

 

Learners who apply can send in copies of their matric certificate to prove that they meet the requirements. If they do not have matric, an assessment can be done to see if they meet the requirements.
