TRAINING COURSE

Details

Enhance your budgeting and financial management skills with our accredited three-day course. Designed for supervisors, team leaders, and small-business owners, it covers essential techniques - from zero-based to performance-based budgeting - along with practical approaches to tracking expenses and addressing variances. By the end of the program, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to effectively plan, monitor, and adjust budgets in alignment with your organization's objectives.

This three-day accredited budgeting course provides a comprehensive understanding of how to plan, allocate, and monitor financial resources within an area of responsibility. Participants learn about key budgeting concepts, methods, and classifications (including line-item, incremental, zero-based, and performance budgeting), while exploring how to construct and apply different types of budgets (production, sales, cash). Through practical exercises, they will discover the importance of budgeting cycles, identify typical constraints, and become proficient at monitoring expenses using variance analysis. By the end of the course, attendees will have the confidence to create realistic budgets, respond effectively to variances, and make informed financial decisions that support the organization's strategic objectives.

This is aligned to unit standard 242810 at NQF level 4 for 6 credits and is part of the FETC: Generic Management Qualification.
